Initiation is a new short film for Purple TV. I directed it with my friend, the artist Coco Young. It stars Carly Mark, Alexandra Marzella, Sara Grace Powell, Coco and me, and was edited by Lessa Millet. Initiation explores the rituals of American Ivy League secret societies, and was filmed at an Ivy League school. You can watch it HERE.
I haven’t made a video for Purple in a while. If you’re in the mood for a #throwback, the most recent was a blow-job instruction video that I made with Sandy Kim last May.
I was on Huff Post live today, talking on a panel about how gender affects sexual regret. And this time I wasn’t just a floating head on a screen, but was actually IRL in the studio! Glamorous!
According to a new study, men and women have very different regrets when it comes to their sexual history. Not too surprising, I suppose. The study found that while men tended to regret the sexual adventures they hadn’t pursued, female participants expressed regret over the things they had done.
The most common regrets for women were: 1. Losing their virginity to the wrong partner (24 percent of respondents) 2. Cheating on a present or past partner (23 percent) 3. Moving too fast sexually (20 percent)
The most common regrets for men were entirely different: 1. Failing to make a move on a prospective sexual partner (27 percent of respondents) 2. Not being more sexually adventurous in their youth (23 percent) 3. Not being more sexually adventurous when single (19 percent)
Read more about the study HERE, and watch the 15 minute video above to see our discussion about it. Also on the panel were Eric Barry, creator of the ‘Full Disclosure’ Sex Podcast; Dr. Justin J. Lehmiller, social psychologist at Harvard University; and Rachel Klechevsky, a sex and relationship therapist.
Finally! A new episode of the VICE Slutever show, yay! It’s been over a year since the last one, so it’s about time, really. This particular episode is a Slutever special, presented by Jackass and Bad Grandpa (aka the new Johnny Knoxville movie).
In this episode I move to LA to become famous, like my idol Anna Nicole Smith. Things take a random turn when I meet the world’s baddest grandpa, Irving Zisman, at a tantric sex cult meeting. Things get dirty…
Many thanks to the wonderful crew of ladiez who I worked alongside to make this: director/producer Adri Murguia; editor Martina de Alba; editor Lessa Millet; graphics master Angie Sullivan

Blood Orange has a new album coming out, yay! It’s called Cupid Deluxe and it features lots of cool people, like Caroline Polachek from Chairlift, David Longstreth from Dirty Projectors, Samantha Urbani from Friends, Clams Casino, Despot, Adam Bainbridge (aka Kindness), Skepta, and more. You may have already seen the video for his new single, Chamakay. I recently interview Mr. Blood Orange about his new record, his life, and the world in general. You can watch the result in the extremely creepy video above :)
My friend, the fabulous Petra Collins, directed this new video for Purple TV. I’m in it. You can watch it below <3 We filmed it partly in Toronto, where Petra is from, and partly in an amazingly beautiful town called Tobermory, which is about four hours drive from Toronto, in Ontario, Canada. We stayed in Tobermory for three days, in a lovely cottage that belongs to Petra’s boyfriend, Avery. It’s way out in the middle of nowhere, and there was no running water (aka you have to wash your vagina in a literal lake and go to the bathroom into a hole, like Amish people) which was an interesting experience, especially considering we were six incompetent, easily grossed-out girls. Also, there was no cell phone service or wifi, which was so traumatizing that I literally can’t even remember what it was like, because my brain blacked the experience out in order to protect itself.
Below the video are some behind-the-scenes stills from the shoot, taken by Petra!

Today I talked on a panel on the Huffington Post Live about ‘the pull-out method.’ The conversation was sparked by a recent article in New York mag titled “The Pull-Out Generation,” where the writer was surprised to find out how many young women are using this method of contraception over regular birth control. Joining me on the panel were sex educator and author of How To Be A Great Lover, Lou Paget; founder of The Center for Sexual Pleasure & Health, Megan Andelleaux; journalist Amanda Marcotte; and of course, the lovely host Ricky Camilleri.
Slutever is back on Purple TV! In this new, instructional video, the amazing Sandy Kim and I teach the world, once and for all, how to give a blow job. This is extremely important, so take notes! You can watch the video HERE!<3
And thanks to Lessa Millet for her wonderful editing.
London band Is Tropical have the best music videos of any band today, hands down. They also make really great music, but that’s besides the point. I used to share a home with these three musical scumbags–Simon Milner, Gary Barber and Dom Apa–back when we were all grungy slobs living in squats around London. Little did I know that one day these three lovely lads would grow up to be indie celebrities. I’m so proud. Also, note Simon rocking a Slutever vaj T-shirt in the photo above #represent. (And no, I don’t have anymore, but I’m making a new T-shirt very soon.)
But 4real, Is Tropical’s music videos are in a different league than those of their peers. I’ve made playlist (videolist?) of most of them below, in order to make life easier for you. The band’s latest vid was directed by the ever-controversial cult photographer Richard Kern. There’s lots of boobs in it–it’s a Kern shoot, what did we expect?–and a few butts as well. The song is “Lover’s Cave,” and it’s off their (semi) recently released album I’m Leaving, on Kitsune. See below:
The next vid is for “Dancing Anymore,” my favorite song off the new album. I listen to it on repeat when I’m jogging, which I guess means it makes me feel inspired. The video was directed by Megaforce, and it was banned from Youtube for being “too sexy” (literally), which earned Is Tropical some serious internet street cred. Also, the teenage boy in the vid is so beautiful I could die.
The next video is for the song “Lies,” from the band’s first album, Native To. It was directed by the photographer Jonathan Leder, who I love, and it stars the amazing and hot model/Playboy playmate Brittany Nola. This song is also great. Uh… it’s hard to describe songs. What’s that saying?–“Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.” Although to be fair, dancing about architecture doesn’t sound all that bad. (#avant-garde)
And lastly, this is a video for “The Greeks,” one of Is Tropical’s first singles. It went mega viral back when it was released because everyone thought it was really progressive and controversial and culturally relevant and politically whatever. It has lots of guns in it. (Guns are bad though, IRL.)
P.S. If you’re not bored with Is Tropical yet–how could you be? their hair is glorious–then you should check out this two part VICE documentary about them. Basically VICE sent the band to Mongolia–which is funny already, because like where even is that?–and then filmed everything that happened. Apparently the trip made Is Tropical the first Western band to ever play in Mongolia, which I suppose means it must be pretty far away.

Above is a short film I made last year with my filmmaking pal, Robert Semmer. It’s called Domestic Bliss and it originally aired on Channel 4 in the UK, as part of their Random Acts short film series. You will see–if you decide to devote three minutes of your short life to watching this–that there is a mildly intimate moment toward the end of the video between myself and a young boy. The actor’s name is Lawrence and he’s the coolest kid ever. His dad is the wonderful photographer Nick Haymes, who I’ve interviewed in the past, specifically about his recent photobook Gabe–a beautifully creepy, voyeuristic love story. Anyway, I just thought it was worth mentioning that both Lawrence and his family consented to the aforementioned scene, seeing it for what it was: an acting role, and a pretty awesome one at that! (And after all, art has no rules, lol.) I should also probably mention that Lawrence was extremely professional and did not try to put any pervy or inappropriate moves on me.
I only brought that up because after the film originally aired, a bunch of bored losers on the internet congregated on their bored loser HQs–also known as Reddit and the comment section of Youtube–to commented endlessly about how I’m a pedophile rapist. But I was all–Yo dudes, take a chill pill!
